Western Studies Alumni Tour

Western Studies has been a staple of the Glenelg Country School experience for more than two decades. Every sophomore student has learned about the history, literature, and art history of western Europe and the world from the Middle Ages through the modern period.

Now former GCS humanities teacher Joan Weber, owner of Nerds Tour, is teaming up with current teacher Brian Hudgins to offer a very special tour opportunity for GCS alumni and friends.

Ms. Weber is partnering with noted tour provider Trafalgar for a guided tour to Paris, Florence, and Rome in June 2026, specifically designed for those who took the GCS Western Studies course from 2002 to 2020. Imagine visiting in person the places and objects you learned about in Upper School, like Abbot Suger’s St. Denis Cathedral or Michelangelo’s Pieta, brought to vivid life by two beloved and incredibly knowledgeable educators!
