Glenelg Country School seeks to fill a Spanish and French World Language and Cultural Studies Lower School teaching position. The Lower School aims to nurture the whole child and create a caring community. A successful candidate should be able to work with elementary-age children who represent a broad range of abilities and learning styles. A successful candidate would be able to collaborate with others well and have experience in integrated teaching.
Responsibilities include teaching French and Spanish language/cultural studies to elementary-age students. Additional responsibilities include regular faculty meetings, the supervision of students during faculty duties, recess, and dismissal.
Qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a closely related field; a master’s degree is desirable. A minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in a lower or elementary school setting is preferred. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, practical oral and communication skills, and experience working with cooperative and differentiated instruction. Must be French/Spanish speaking at a moderate-intermediate level.
