Upper School Visual Arts Teacher

Glenelg Country School seeks an Upper School Visual Arts Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. The teaching assignment will focus on pottery and 3-D methods. Demonstrated competence in materials, techniques and pedagogy is essential, as is the ability to collaborate with other members of the department in developing programs, workshops and demonstrations of student work. The successful candidate will possess a love of teens and an ability to channel their creative energy into concrete expression through inspiration, guidance and instruction. Previous teaching experience in pottery and 3-D methods and proper maintenance of the studio are requirements. GCS is a thriving community built on the holistic development of its students, and the desire to work with adolescents in and out of the classroom is a key aspect of the job. All full-time Upper School teachers contribute to clubs and enrichment activities and advise a group of eight to ten students for their entire Upper School career.
