Lower School

Fostering a natural curiosity that leads to success.

Setting children up for success means educating the whole child. Glenelg Country School provides a strong academic base from which we seek to sharpen your child’s critical thinking skills. Applying a project-based curriculum, we bring together lessons from language arts, science, music, technology, social studies, mathematics and more so your child starts making the connections between multiple subject areas.

Students develop a strong academic foundation and are taught with a “growth mindset approach” that allows them to make and learn from mistakes, dream big, and work hard to achieve goals. It is in the Lower School where your child gains exposure to global issues and cultures through service learning projects and character-building activities. In Glenelg Country School’s nurturing environment, children engage with the wider world, and learn compassion and empathy for other people and cultures.

Our family atmosphere helps students gain confidence and self-esteem. Your child is known by everyone, helping to develop a remarkable camaraderie that extends beyond the classroom and into the larger Glenelg Country School community.
