Glenelg Country School is a true country day school, bringing the character-building aspects of the best college preparatory schools to Howard County. To further support our students and their families, we offer a variety of services and programs to better enhance the education experience.
Round-trip transportation is available to and from school for Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 12 students. Two- and three-year-old students are not allowed to ride the bus.
Each route is designed to be about an hour. Pick-up at the first stop begins at 6:45–7 a.m., while the bus leaves campus daily at 4 p.m. Families also have the flexibility in choosing different pick-up and drop-off stops for their child.
The cost to participate in transportation services is $800 one-way and $1,400 round-trip annually.
As a convenience to our families, Glenelg Country School provides the option to enroll in a Catered Lunch program. The School contracts with an outside catering service to offer a varied menu consisting of a hot entrée, a salad and sandwich bar, a side dish, fruits, dessert, and juice or bottled water. The cost of catered lunch is not included in tuition and is billed by the trimester. Students may enroll for either two or four days per week.
We understand the demands of working adults. Our Extended Day programs provide a supportive and safe environment for your child to learn, explore, share, create, and play while you’re at the office. Our Extended Day teachers encourage imagination, creativity, and expression through the arts, science, nature exploration, and more.
Morning care is available at 7:30 a.m. for students Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 5.
Aftercare is available from 3:30–6 p.m. for students in Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 8.
A special “School’s Out” program is available from 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. in June between the close of the school year and the opening of Summer Camps.
Full day programs are offered during professional and parent conference days for students in Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 5 with advanced registration.
Glenelg Country School offers the opportunity for students to participate in after school enrichment activities conducted on our campus. Enrichment classes are offered three times a year (fall, winter, and spring) to students Pre-Kindergarten–Grade 8, with classes that include instruction in visual arts, dance, computer technology, math, cooking, and sports.
