About Us

Every child has the ability to achieve excellence. They just need the right environment to help pave their way. At Glenelg Country School, our balanced, holistic philosophy of learning incorporates multiple disciplines that help children grow into exceptional adults.

True to the country day school model, we carry the traditions of academic excellence, healthy living, diversity, athletics, the arts, and strong community involvement throughout all grade levels. Our varied classes and programs enhance the enrichment opportunities available for your child’s exploration. Once they become young adults, they’re well equipped to take advantage of all the opportunities life has to offer.

For over 50 years, Glenelg Country School has been educating children and young adults, getting them prepared for college, and encouraging them to reach their full potential. Learn more about our mission to our kids and our history.

Glenelg Country School is the only educational institution in Howard County and the surrounding area to offer the Reggio Emilia approach. From Reggio activities and project-based learning in our Lower School, to the learning opportunities that allow students to test their independence in Middle School and our college preparatory classes in the Upper School, our students get a unique learning experience that prepares them for a future full of higher learning.
