Young Alumni Advisory Council
YAAC
The Young Alumni Advisory Council (YAAC) is comprised of former students who have graduated within the last 10 years. In partnership with the Alumni Office and GCS faculty and staff, the Council functions as a liaison between the GCS community and its young alumni worldwide, and positively represents the school to external parties through support of its mission and objectives.
The council will consist of no more than 20 members who serve at will and are willing to commit to volunteering no less than 1 hour a week. Council Members are bound by maturity–no Council Member shall remain in the Council past the 10th anniversary of their GCS graduation.
The mission and purpose of the YAAC is to:
-
Connect with current GCS Upper School students to offer support and advice.
-
Advise key stakeholders within the GCS administration around initiatives to build and foster a more fluid community, establishing interdivisional partnerships and traditions that will connect all divisions from Little Dragons through Upper School.
-
Pioneer initiatives to enrich current and future programs, activities, and gatherings promoting diversity and inclusion.
-
Engage the GCS Young Alumni community to be active participants in the well-being of the greater GCS ecosystem.
-
When possible, support and attend alumni, school, and community special events as an effective and positive ambassador for GCS.
