Position Summary:
Glenelg Country School is currently accepting applications for Lead Summer Camp Counselors/Instructors to join our Summer in the Country program. Located in Ellicott City, Maryland, our school provides a range of camps for children from pre-kindergarten to tenth grade. Our camps cover various interests, including STEM, sports, arts, robotics, cooking, adventure, nature, music, sewing, writing, chess, and more. The Summer in the Country camps will be running from June 17, 2024, to July 26, 2024, Monday to Friday. Counselors will be expected to work 35 hours per week, from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with the possibility of additional hours in Before or After Care. Please note that the camp will be closed on June 19 and July 4, 2024, due to holidays.
Overview of Essential Functions:
- Lead counselors have the responsibility to engage thoughtfully with children and create a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers.
- Supervising campers
- Planning activities
- Actively participate in care, interaction, and games.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Candidates should have a desire to work in a fast-paced, child-friendly environment and be able to collaborate effectively as part of a team. Preference will be given to those with experience working with children or pursuing a degree or training in parks and recreation, childcare, child development, or education. All candidates must be at least 18 years old.
