The Early Childhood Teaching Assistant will assist the lead teacher in supporting and nurturing the development of each child’s self-esteem, trust, and growing autonomy. This position is an excellent opportunity for new educator interested in strengthening their professional skill set and who is passionate about teaching students in an Early Childhood (Primary School) setting.
We have two positions available:
- Full-time, 12-month position working 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
- Part-time, 12-month position working 27.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 12:30pm – 6pm.
Overview of Essential Functions:
- The Early Childhood Teaching Assistant will assist the lead teacher in supporting and nurturing the development of each child’s self-esteem, trust, and growing autonomy.
- Help assess children’s different personal needs, temperament styles, and abilities.
- Support the classroom team to plan and implement lesson plan activities and developmentally appropriate experiences.
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings, parent meetings, in-service training, and other meetings as directed.
Education and Experience:
- Must have the 90-hour preschool and 45-hour infant toddler classes.
- Must have First aid and CPR certification.
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Compensation Range:
$20.00 – $23.00 per hour. GCS offers a robust benefits package including health insurances (prorated cost for part-time), retirement plan with TIAA, and generous leave and holiday breaks.
