Introducing the Young Alumni Advisory Council

The Council is comprised of former students who have graduated within the last 10 years. This council will use their perspective as former students to provide GCS with honest feedback and well-researched recommendations to ensure the inclusiveness of the community and development of current dragons.




Joseph Clark ’10
Clark attended GCS for 10 years starting in first grade. He excelled at lacrosse and soccer, was a member of the ski and snowboard club, and was inducted into the National Honor Society. He graduated from Gettysburg College with a bachelor’s in business management, where he was vice president of his fraternity, Phi Sigma Kappa. Clark is currently pursuing a graduate degree from Georgetown University while working for Osprey Property Company.

Alexandra Manaras ’14
Manaras attended GCS for 11 years and went on to earn bachelor’s and master’s degrees in bioengineering from Clemson University. She is now a biomedical engineer at the FDA reviewing cardiovascular devices.

Krystal Roggerson ’12
Roggerson attended GCS four years as an Upper School student. During her time at GCS, she played indoor and outdoor soccer, and co-founded the Black Student Association. Krystal received her undergraduate degree in biology from Hampton University and is currently completing her doctorate in biomedical sciences at Morehouse College School of Medicine.

Matthew Sheehan ’15
Sheehan attended GCS for eight years, beginning in the fifth grade. He played baseball, basketball, and soccer while balancing numerous AP courses. Sheehan majored in chemical engineering at Lehigh University. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in food engineering and flavor chemistry at Cornell University. This summer he will be interning with E&J Gallo (the largest winery in the world), working primarily with spirits, specialty products, and flavors.

Darryl Williams ’15
During his four years in the Upper School, Williams was vice president of the Student Council, a member of the ensemble choir and instrumental band, and captain of the varsity men’s basketball team. Williams graduated from Randolph Macon College with dual degrees in political science and religious studies. He is currently awaiting admissions decisions for law schools while working within the health care system in Baltimore, Maryland.

Jocelyn Wright ’19
Wright is a GCS lifer, becoming a Dragon as a kindergartner. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Latin Honor Society, was in the GSA, ran a book club, and took numerous AP courses. Currently, Wright is a sophomore at Dickinson College where she is pursuing a double major in psychology and classical studies with a Latin focus, both subjects she developed a passion for at GCS.
