GCS Staff
In the fall, eight Upper School students attended the Baltimore Student Diversity Leadership Conference. Nicole A. ’26, Camille C. ’25, Jasmine H. ’23, Talia H. ’24, Riya M. ’24, Bube O. ’25, Jola O. ’24, and Renee Y. ’24 joined over 200 students from area schools to engage in areas of diversity, inclusion, equity, and justice. This grassroots conference has existed for over 30 years under the dedicated leadership of teachers and students predominantly from AIMS member schools. The conference centers the voices and experiences of identities often marginalized and serves to build community, knowledge, and skills. Held at Sandy Spring Friends School, Jola, Renee, and Riya served on the student planning team and collaborated with other student leaders to organize this year’s event.
