A Petting Zoo Provides Valuable Lessons

GCS Staff

Students watch a llama and horse eat hay during an on-campus petting zoo visit.

Two-year-old students in the Little Dragons program have spent weeks learning about farms and farm animals. Mary’s Go Round Petting Zoo was kind enough to visit the Glenelg Country School campus and meet Ms. Cieslak and Mrs. Kozak’s classes. The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for students to see real farm animals themselves! During their investigation, the two-year-olds learned how farmers care for different animals. The petting zoo experience allowed the students a chance to groom and feed the animals so they could have a small glimpse into a farmer’s responsibility.
