Whatever shape nature takes, it offers each child an older, larger world separate from parents. Unlike television, nature does not steal time; it amplifies it. - The Last Child in the Woods by Richard Louv GCS has the greatest gift to offer your child~ our beautiful, magical campus. Join us for a week of adventures in our GCS Forest. Campers will explore the hidden nooks and cozy spots, learn about the wildlife and plant life that share our spaces, and just enjoy time outdoors. Forest Adventures will help campers use all of their senses to truly notice special outdoor spaces; the sights, the sounds, the smells, the feel, and even the tastes around us. We will use loose parts, photography, open-ended art, poetry, stories, yoga, imagination, and more, to become “friends” with our Forest. Research shows that being in nature helps to build confidence, creativity, and independence. It’s also healthy for the mind and the body. (Campers please wear comfortable clothes and shoes that could get DIRTY!)
