National Honor Society Welcomes New Members

Earlier this month, Glenelg Country School held its annual National Honor Society (NHS) Induction Ceremony in the Mulitz Theater. Forty Upper School students in grades 10–12, who met the requirements for memberships were inducted in front of family, faculty, and current NHS members. Guest speaker Sebastian Weeks ’07, congratulated inductees on their success and offered words of wisdom.

 

In order to qualify for the National Honor Society, students must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; demonstrate a commitment to community service; are recognized as student leaders how are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors. Leadership experiences can be drawn from school or community activities while working with or for others; and is of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others; and generally maintains a clean disciplinary record.  

 

NHS members commit both time and effort to their chapter after induction. In addition to chapter meetings, members also must participate in chapter and individual service projects to benefit the school and community. 

 

Junior inductees include Ayla Abro, Xinci Bao, Dylan Bhandary, Blair Byrne, Regan Byrne, Karlee Cangialosi, Quinten Cazares, Ziming Cheng, Taylor Closson, Claudia Davis, Lena Doreen, Julia Dustin, Ashley Dyer, Morgan Eisenberg, Lilly Fox, Kendall Francis, Zhixin Fu, Brogan Graham, Clara Henry, Madeline Herman, Ava Keenan, Eliza Macaluso, Caveny Mantzaris, Rebecca Mello, Ian Noble, Cate O’Ferrall, Alex Pereira, Stephen Robinson, Kathryn Roesch, Tyler Schrott, Zachary Schulman, Peter Seelman, Madison Weller, and Mia Wheedleton.

 

Senior inductees include Elizabeth Bateman, Benjamin Hulit, Cydney Lisk, Jamie Marszal, Connor Schrott, and Maria Tomarchio.
